It's Spencer's birthday tomorrow and in preparation for such, we spent the afternoon making his cake. I saw a picture in Family Fun magazine of a cute and simple cake that I thought he would like. So, we got some jelly beans, mini marshmallows, and a funfetti cake and went to work. We mixed up the cake (Spencer was thrilled with the funfetti candies in the batter), and separated the jelly beans into colors. We then made blue frosting and frosted the cake top a "sky blue." We placed jelly beans in a rainbow pattern and finished by mounding some marshmallows at both ends of the rainbow. It was easy and fun and the perfect birthday-eve activity for Spencer.
